Maritime Security Belt 2025: Russia, Iran, and China Hold Joint Drills in Gulf of Oman

Warships from Russia, Iran, and China participated in the Maritime Security Belt 2025 naval exercise in the Gulf of Oman, conducting live-fire drills and a coordinated operation to free a vessel “hijacked by simulated terrorists,” the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.
Russia’s Pacific Fleet was represented by the corvettes Rezky and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, along with the medium sea tanker Pechenga. Over two days, crews engaged in daytime and nighttime live-fire exercises, targeting mock enemy drones and unmanned boats with heavy machine guns and small arms.
Following the successful completion of the drills, the participating warships returned to the Iranian port of Chabahar for final assessments and the closing ceremony. The joint exercise underscores growing military cooperation between the three nations in ensuring regional maritime security.
