Algerian players Amine Gouiri (Olympique de Marseille) and Himad Abdelli (Angers) have been nominated for the 2025 Marc-Vivien Foé Prize. This prestigious award has been given since 2009 to the best African player in the French league season, as reported by the AfrikFoot website.

Himad Abdelli, a midfielder for Angers, is recognized as the club’s standout outfield player. Meanwhile, his fellow countryman Amine Gouiri has played a pivotal role for Rennes over the past two and a half seasons and has established himself as a prominent striker for Olympique de Marseille following his transfer during the winter window.

The title for the previous edition was awarded to Gabonese player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (formerly of OM).

Other nominees include Senegalese players Lamine Camara (Monaco), Habib Diarra (Strasbourg), and Moussa Niakhaté from Olympique Lyonnais. Additionally, reigning African champion Yahia Fofana (Angers), the only goalkeeper on the list, is joined by compatriots Evann Guessand (Nice) and Hamed Junior Traoré (Auxerre).

Completing the nominations are Nigerian Moses Simon (Nantes) and Guinean Abdoulaye Touré (Le Havre). The winner will be announced on May 12.
