Major Strike to Disrupt German Airports Over Wage Dispute

A major 24-hour strike will take place on Monday at several key German airports, including Frankfurt, following a breakdown in wage negotiations between the Verdi trade union and employers.

Verdi is demanding an 8% wage increase or a minimum monthly raise of €350, citing the rising cost of living. However, employers argue that such an increase is financially unsustainable.

The strike is expected to cause major disruptions at airports such as Munich, Stuttgart, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Hannover, Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin, and Leipzig-Halle.

Neither Frankfurt nor Berlin airports have issued official statements regarding the extent of the disruption.
