Lebanon seizes 64 million Captagon pills in major anti-drug operation

The Lebanese army announced Wednesday it had seized around 64 million Captagon pills in the east of the country, calling it one of the largest operations ever carried out against the drug in Lebanon.
In a statement, the army said it had “seized approximately 64 million Captagon pills and 79 barrels of chemicals used in the manufacture of narcotics during an operation in Boudai, near Baalbek, in the Bekaa region bordering Syria.”
It described the bust as “one of the largest quantities of drugs discovered on Lebanese territory,” adding that “searches are ongoing to arrest members of the network involved.”
On Monday, Lebanese authorities said they had dismantled an international drug trafficking network and intercepted a shipment of hashish and Captagon tablets destined for other countries.
