Lebanon: 37 Health Centers Closed Due to Escalating Violence (WHO)

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that 37 health centers in Lebanon have ceased operations following the recent escalation of violence that began on September 23. This information was shared by the UN agency on social media on Thursday, underscoring the “necessity of protecting medical facilities.”
The WHO noted that ” 37 out of 317 health centers across Lebanon have shut down and can no longer provide services.” it emphasized that “along with food, water and shelter, access to health services is a lifeline.”
Lebanese media have indicated that most of the closed medical centers are situated in southern Lebanon. Since Monday, the Zionist forces has intensified its assaults on the country, resulting in thousands of casualties and injuries. Additionally, over 90,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes, with around 70,000 seeking refuge in 400 schools and other designated sites, according to the UN.
