Lebanon: 24 southern towns targeted in overnight Zionist airstrike
BEIRUT – Zionist military aircraft launched violent airstrikes on Saturday night, targeting 24 towns in the south, east, and centre of Lebanon and resulting in the martyrdom of seven civilians, according to the Lebanese news agency on Sunday.
The agency reported that the raids targeted the districts of Tyre and Jezzine in the South Governorate, as well as the districts of Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun, and Hasbaya in the Nabatieh Governorate.
The eastern raids targeted the Baalbek district in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate and the Western Bekaa district in the Bekaa Governorate.
In the centre, the raids hit the Aley district in the Mount Lebanon Governorate.
The agency reported 7 martyrs and 21 injured individuals. Among the martyrs was the mayor of Sohmar, Haider Shahla.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening that the toll from the ongoing Zionist aggression since October 8, 2023, has risen to 2,448 martyrs and 11,471 injured.
