Lebanese Report: Zionist Entity’s Military Actions Level 37 Southern Villages, Destroy Over 40,000 Housing Units
A Lebanese report on Tuesday indicated that 37 southern Lebanese villages have been leveled to the ground due to military actions by the Zionist entity, with over 40,000 residential units completely destroyed.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), “As part of the destructive war waged by the Zionist entity against Lebanon, particularly the southern region, their military forces have been detonating and razing entire neighborhoods in cities and towns.”
The report stated that “more than 37 villages have been flattened, with houses destroyed, and over 40,000 housing units completely obliterated.”
This extensive damage is reported in an area stretching 3 kilometers deep, from Naqoura to the outskirts of Khiam in southern Lebanon.
Mohammad Shamseddine, a researcher at International Information, told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that “around 29 villages and towns, spanning 120 kilometers from Naqoura in the west to Shebaa in the east, have been largely destroyed,” adding that “the number of housing units destroyed there amounts to around 25,000.”
The Zionist entity’s army claims it only targets buildings used by Hezbollah as shelters or weapons storage sites.
Additionally, fighter jets belonging to the Zionist entity carried out several airstrikes on Tuesday afternoon, targeting areas in southern Lebanon and the town of Housh al-Rafqa in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa region.
The NNA reported that the Zionist airstrikes hit southern Lebanese towns of Sir al-Gharbiya and Burj al-Moulouk on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the death of a Syrian national and injuries to two Palestinians.
The air force also targeted other southern towns, including Aitit, Khirbet Silm, Anqoun, Deir al-Zahrani, Wadi Jilou, Yuhmur al-Shqif, and Arnoun.
In addition, an airstrike targeted a house in Housh al-Rafqa in eastern Bekaa, while Zionist artillery shelled areas east of the southern town of Yuhmur.
Another strike hit an apartment in a building in Jiyyeh, Mount Lebanon, injuring seven individuals, according to preliminary reports.
Since September 23, the Zionist air force has launched a series of extensive airstrikes that continue to this day, targeting multiple regions across southern Lebanon, eastern Bekaa, Beirut, the southern suburbs of Beirut, as well as Mount Lebanon and northern areas. On October 1, the Zionist occupation forces initiated a ground operation in southern Lebanon.
