“Law enforcement officials identify the suspect of an apparent assassination attempt against Donald Trump,” AP reports.

The acting Secret Service director, Ronald Rowe, is due to brief Donald Trump about the investigation results following a seemingly second assassination attempt. Meanwhile, Trump is set to speak live on X at night from his Mar-a-Lago resort to launch his son’s crypto platform, AP reported.
Former president and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump survived what the FBI considered “an apparent assassination attempt” at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday afternoon.
According to AP, a man, later identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was spotted pointing an AK-style rifle through a fence while hiding in the bushes about 400 to 500 yards away from Trump.
Following the attempted attack, Trump told his supporters: “Before rumours start spiralling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” He added, “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”
Both Biden and Harris issued statements condemning the incident. Harris added that she was “deeply disturbed” and will also be briefed about the probe.
Donald Trump lives at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, which is accessible to dues-paying members who can interact with Trump and invite guests. Additionally, the club serves as a popular venue for fundraisers, weddings, and other events, where Trump occasionally makes unannounced appearances.
The FBI said in a statement that they believe it is the second attempt on Trump’s life, two months after he was targeted at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. A spectator was killed, two others were injured, and Secret Service snipers shot the suspect, who was identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
