Lavrov Warns Middle East Tensions Are “Potentially Explosive”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned that the current situation surrounding Iran is extremely dangerous, describing it as “potentially explosive” not only for Iran itself but for the entire Middle East. In an interview for RT, Lavrov said the region is riddled with hidden dangers, comparing it to a landscape full of mines waiting to be triggered by a single misstep.

He cautioned that the accumulation of unresolved disputes, military pressure, and regional rivalries has created a highly volatile environment. According to Lavrov, even limited incidents could rapidly escalate, with consequences that would extend well beyond Iran and affect the stability of the entire Middle East.

Lavrov also noted that “Israel”, the United States, and Iran are fully aware of the gravity of the situation. He stressed that the current tensions demand careful handling, warning that reckless actions could ignite a broader regional crisis with far-reaching repercussions.
