Lavrov to Visit China for High-Level Talks on Ukraine, Middle East, and Strategic Cooperation

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to undertake an official visit to China on April 14–15, where he will hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The ministry announced that the visit will include comprehensive negotiations between the two top diplomats, focusing on the full scope of bilateral relations between Russia and China. Discussions are expected to cover prospects for expanding political and diplomatic contacts at various levels, as well as coordination on key issues on the international stage.
A major part of the agenda will focus on cooperation within multilateral frameworks, including the United Nations, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the G20, and APEC, alongside other regional and global forums where both countries play active roles.
In addition to bilateral and multilateral cooperation, the two sides are expected to hold an in-depth exchange of views on pressing international crises. These include the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East, which remain central to global diplomatic tensions.
