Lavrov, Rubio Hold ‘‘Constructive’’ Talks on Steps Following Putin–Trump Call

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss possible concrete steps following the recent call between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday.

According to the ministry, the talks were described as “constructive,” a term rarely used by Moscow to characterize exchanges with Washington in recent years.
