Lavrov: France Proposed Dialogue on Ukraine to Russia Without Kiev’s Participation

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that France had, through closed channels, proposed establishing a dialogue on Ukraine without Kiev’s involvement. While Russia is open to hearing France’s ideas on resolving the conflict, Lavrov expressed skepticism about taking these initiatives seriously.
He pointed out that France has been a key advocate for sending peacekeeping troops to Ukraine and has been training Ukrainian forces on its soil. Furthermore, Lavrov noted that France publicly continues to push for stronger positions for Ukraine while advocating for further actions against Russia, which complicates the credibility of their proposals.
