Kremlin Warns U.S. Involvement in Tomahawk Missile Use by Kiev Could Have “Serious Consequences”

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov cautioned that the potential delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Kiev would inevitably require the participation of U.S. personnel, a move that could carry grave consequences. Speaking to reporters, Peskov explained that operating such advanced weapon systems is not possible without American specialists, emphasizing that this is precisely what Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev was referring to in his recent warning.
“The handling of such sophisticated missiles would inevitably require the involvement of American specialists. That’s an evident fact,” Peskov stated, noting that “any expert who monitors the issue understands it perfectly well.” His comments came in response to Medvedev’s post, in which the former Russian president warned that the transfer of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could “end badly” for all parties involved.
Earlier, Medvedev wrote on Russia’s Max national messenger that the potential shipment of Tomahawk missiles to Kiev would be highly destabilizing. He highlighted the inherent risks of such a move, stressing that it would be impossible to determine whether any launched Tomahawk carried a nuclear or a conventional warhead. “It’s not Banderite Kiev but the U.S. that will carry out launches,” Medvedev underscored, suggesting that Washington’s direct role in such operations would mark a dangerous escalation in the conflict.
