Kremlin: Ukraine Still Rejects Talks with Russia, Violates Moratorium on Energy Strikes

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Ukraine continues to refuse negotiations with Russia, despite the ongoing conflict and international appeals for dialogue. He also accused Kiev of violating its declared moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure, saying, “The evidence speaks for itself.”

Peskov added that the Kremlin will announce when its own moratorium on attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is lifted. On developments inside Ukraine, he remarked that the extension of martial law and mobilization reflects Kiev’s attempt to hold together what he called a “fragile structure.”

Addressing other international matters, Peskov reaffirmed that Russia is willing to support efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear program through diplomatic and political means. He also noted that President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming meeting with Qatar’s Emir Al Thani will include discussions on the war in Ukraine and broader developments in the Middle East.
