Kremlin Says Ukraine Negotiations at Stage Requiring Silence

The Kremlin said the current stage of negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine requires confidentiality, declining to provide further details on the latest round of talks held in Geneva on Feb. 17–18.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there was nothing to add to the assessment of the negotiations beyond comments already made by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. He noted that Moscow would not disclose additional information, as the talks have reached a phase that does not involve public discussion.
Peskov added that the Geneva negotiations were conducted in multiple formats, including a meeting between Medinsky and representatives of the Ukrainian delegation. He also said the Kremlin would announce the location of the next round of negotiations once the details are finalized.
Separately, the spokesman stated that no phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is currently planned.
