Kremlin Says Russia to Seek Briefing From US on Ukraine Talks With Kiev and Brussels

Russia is preparing to establish contact with the United States in order to receive detailed briefings on Washington’s recent discussions with Ukraine and European partners regarding a potential settlement to the Ukraine conflict, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday. He confirmed that Moscow is working to arrange specific channels of communication with American counterparts to better understand the outcomes of those talks.
“We are indeed working on arranging certain contacts with our American counterparts to gather information on the outcomes of their work with Europeans and Ukrainians,” Peskov told reporters, underscoring Russia’s interest in being informed about ongoing diplomatic efforts shaping the proposed framework for a Ukraine deal.
Earlier, Axios reported, citing sources, that representatives from the United States, Ukraine and Russia are expected to travel to Miami, Florida, this week for separate meetings. According to media reports, US President Donald Trump’s representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are set to meet with Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special envoy, signaling renewed behind-the-scenes engagement between Washington and Moscow on the Ukraine issue.
