Kremlin: Russia Ready to Assist in De-Escalating Situation Around Iran

The Kremlin said Russia is ready to assist in efforts to de-escalate tensions surrounding Iran, reaffirming Moscow’s willingness to contribute to diplomatic solutions on the Iranian nuclear issue. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia remains open to practical steps that could help reduce concerns among involved parties.

Peskov noted that one possible option proposed by Russia is to provide services for the export of excess enriched uranium from Iran. Such a mechanism, he explained, could help address sensitivities and remove irritants for a number of states concerned about Iran’s nuclear activities.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that Russia supports political and diplomatic approaches to resolving the situation, emphasizing that de-escalation and dialogue remain the most effective paths to stability in the region.
