Kremlin: Russia Continues to View NATO as a Hostile Alliance Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Moscow reaffirmed its long-standing stance toward the NATO, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that Russia continues to regard the alliance as hostile. The remarks come at a time of heightened geopolitical strain, as relations between Russia and Western powers remain deeply fractured amid ongoing global conflicts and security concerns.

Peskov also revealed that President Vladimir Putin is actively maintaining communication channels with leaders of Gulf states, focusing particularly on the evolving situation in Iran. These contacts reflect Moscow’s broader diplomatic engagement in the Middle East, where tensions have escalated amid fears of further confrontation involving regional and international actors.

According to the Kremlin, Putin remains firmly committed to pursuing a political and diplomatic resolution to the crisis surrounding Iran. The Russian leader has reportedly discussed the issue extensively with Gulf counterparts, emphasizing the need for dialogue and de-escalation. Moscow’s position underscores its intention to play a stabilizing role, advocating for negotiations over military escalation in a region already marked by volatility.
