Kremlin : Russia, China Have Not Conducted Nuclear Tests

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday that neither Russia nor China has carried out any nuclear tests, rejecting allegations previously raised by the United States.
According to Russia’s state news agency Tass, Peskov said both Moscow and Beijing had been referenced in reports about alleged nuclear testing but firmly denied the claims. “Neither the Russian Federation nor China has conducted any nuclear tests,” he said, adding that Chinese representatives have also categorically rejected the accusations.
Earlier this month, the United States accused China of conducting a secret nuclear test in 2020 while calling for a new, broader arms control treaty that would include both Russia and China. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian dismissed the allegations, saying Washington’s claims lack factual basis and accusing the US of distorting China’s nuclear policy as part of political efforts to pursue nuclear dominance.
