The Kremlin confirmed Wednesday that the testing of Russia’s advanced nuclear-powered underwater vehicle, Poseidon, is being carried out in strict accordance with international regulations.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that President Vladimir Putin did not personally observe the tests but was promptly informed about their progress and results. He added that Putin closely followed updates on the Poseidon program.
According to Peskov, the Poseidon system represents a major step forward not only for Russia’s defense and security but also for the development of advanced technologies that could later benefit the national economy.
