Kremlin Confirms Possible Visit by Russian Negotiator to the US

The Kremlin confirmed on Wednesday that a visit by senior Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev to the United States is “possible,” responding to media reports regarding the visit. Dmitriev, Russia’s special envoy for foreign investment and economic cooperation, is expected to meet US special envoy Steve Witkoff in Washington this week to discuss bilateral relations, according to sources cited by CNN.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, “Yes, I confirm that such a visit is possible. We continue our communication with the Americans through various channels. I cannot tell you anything more specific.” Diplomatic contacts between Russia and the US continue as both sides work towards ending the conflict in Ukraine and normalizing relations.

Peskov also denied any connection between US President Donald Trump’s expected visit to Saudi Arabia in May and a potential meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while confirming that the details for a summit between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in May have been finalized.
