Kremlin: Belief That Ukraine Can Reclaim Territory Is a Mistake

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it is a “mistake” to assume that Ukraine can reclaim territory from Russia, stressing Moscow’s firm stance on the conflict.
Peskov noted that U.S. President Donald Trump recently made new statements on the Ukrainian situation after speaking with Volodymyr Zelensky, comments that appeared to be shaped by the Ukrainian leader’s perspective. He underlined that Zelensky’s view of the conflict stands in sharp contrast to Russia’s position.
The spokesman added that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will present Moscow’s stance directly to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during their meeting in New York. Peskov concluded by emphasizing that Russia remains open to establishing cooperation with the United States despite ongoing tensions.
