Kremlin Awaits US Briefing on Ukraine Talks, Eyes Possible Putin-Trump Call

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced Wednesday that upcoming Russia-US contacts will provide Moscow with details on recent US-Ukraine negotiations in Jeddah. He stated that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz are expected to share insights on the discussions and any agreements reached.
Peskov did not rule out the possibility of a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump but emphasized that no arrangements have been made yet. He also noted that while economic cooperation on rare earth metals remains a potential area for discussion, no formal talks have occurred. Meanwhile, Moscow continues to analyze statements following the Jeddah meeting, where Kyiv reportedly agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal from Washington.
