Kenya: Senate Votes to Impeach Vice President

The Kenyan Senate voted on Thursday to impeach Vice President Rigathi Gachagua, following an unprecedented procedure that culminated months of tension between President William Ruto and his deputy. The upper chamber found Gachagua guilty of at least four out of the eleven charges presented in the impeachment motion. The Senate required a conviction on just one charge for his removal from office.
