Italy: 75 Deaths and 12,876 COVID-19 Cases Reported in a Week

On Saturday, the Italian Ministry of Health announced that 75 deaths and 12,876 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded over the past week.
In its statement, the ministry indicated that the number of fatalities attributed to COVID-19 reached 75 between August 29 and September 4, marking a 44% decrease compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, the total number of infections was reported at 12,876, reflecting a 15% decline from the week prior.
Additionally, the ministry reported conducting a total of 89,228 tests, resulting in a positivity rate of 14.4%.
Furthermore, the World Health Organization confirmed in August that the COVID-19 virus remains widespread and continues to transmit across various countries. The organization emphasized data from its surveillance system, which covers 84 nations, revealing an increase in positive test results over several weeks.
