‘Israel’’s Strike on Doha Signals Lack of Will to End Gaza Catastrophe – Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned the Zionist entity’s strike on the Qatari capital Doha, stressing that it reflects a lack of commitment to resolving the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Gaza. Speaking at a meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council Strategic Dialogue in Sochi, Lavrov highlighted the gravity of the attack in light of Qatar’s role in mediation efforts.

“The situation is even more cynical because Qatar is one of the key intermediaries in the indirect talks between Israel and Hamas,” Lavrov said, adding that such actions undermine regional stability and peace efforts. He underlined that the attack represented not only an act of aggression against a sovereign state but also a blow to mediation channels that have been crucial in facilitating negotiations and humanitarian relief.

Lavrov concluded that the Zionist entity’s actions demonstrate “a lack of desire to put an end to the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza,” where tens of thousands of civilians have already lost their lives. He urged the international community to push back against such escalations and to strengthen support for genuine mediation and peacebuilding initiatives in the region.
