Islamic Solidarity Games: Seven Algerian Judokas to Compete in Riyadh

ALGIERS, November 4, 2025 – The Algerian judo team, composed of both men and women, will be represented by seven athletes at the 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to the Algerian Judo Federation (FAJ).
The men’s lineup includes Driss Messaoud, Hazil Oussama, Lili Mohamed El Mahdi, and Bouamar Mustapha, while the women’s team will feature Amina Belkadi, Keddour Houaria, and Khadija Bekhira.
The judo events will be held from November 8 to 10 at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Sports City, with 171 judokas (97 men and 74 women) from 33 countries expected to compete.
Algeria will be represented at the Games by a delegation of 117 athletes across 16 disciplines, according to the organizers.
The Algerian participation covers a wide range of sports, both individual and team-based: athletics (8 athletes), basketball 3×3 (8), boxing (7), duathlon (3), ju-jitsu (7), judo (7), karate (6), muay thai (7), swimming (24), taekwondo (4), table tennis (6), weightlifting (10), wrestling (9), and wushu (3).
Two Paralympic disciplines will also be included: para-athletics (7 athletes) and para-powerlifting (1).
The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA), which organizes the event, stated that this edition will bring together athletes from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) across 21 sports, including two para-sports.
Initially awarded to Cameroon, the Games were later reassigned to Saudi Arabia, which is hosting the event for the second time, twenty years after organizing the first edition in Mecca in 2005.
Subsequent editions took place in Tehran (2009), Palembang (2013), Baku (2017), and Konya (2023).
Algeria, which fielded 147 athletes across 12 disciplines at the previous edition in Konya (Turkey), aims once again to demonstrate its potential and ambitions in an event held under the banner of fraternity, solidarity, and athletic excellence.
