IsDB Kicks Off 2025 Annual Meetings in Algiers

ALGIERS – The annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) for the year 2025 began on Monday in Algiers with technical meetings held in preparation for the official opening on Tuesday, Algeria Press Service (APS) reported.

These meetings, mostly held behind closed doors, focus on the technical and organizational aspects of the plenary sessions, with the aim of setting priorities and outlining the main themes of the discussions during the assemblies (May 19–22), which will take place in the presence of senior officials and experts from the Bank’s 57 member countries.

The agenda for the first day of the 5th annual meetings of the multilateral bank includes a meeting of the IsDB Group’s Board of Governors, the 13th IsDB Forum on Youth Empowerment and Employability, and a forum on digital solutions for promoting SMEs and micro-enterprises.

Following these technical sessions, the official opening of the annual meetings will take place on Tuesday, with nearly 2,000 participants, including political leaders, private sector representatives, and officials from international institutions, providing a platform to discuss the economic challenges and opportunities within the Muslim world.
