IsDB Chairman: Algeria Is a Key Contributor and a Priority for Economic Support
ALGIERS- The Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Muhammed Ben Sulaiman Al-Jasser, stated on Sunday that Algeria is one of the bank’s major contributors, reiterating the Group’s commitment to supporting the country’s economic development.
Following the audience granted to him by the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Al-Jasser stated: “Algeria is among the founding States of the IsDB and one of its major contributors, and that is why it is our duty to be present in Algeria and to make all possible efforts to help accelerate its economic development.”
Al-Jasser expressed his sincere thanks to President Tebboune for “the detailed presentation he gave on the economic development of Algeria which is so dear to us.”
“I was deeply reassured by the will and determination that characterize the medium and long-term economic development programs in Algeria,” he said.
“The President of the Republic assured me that he will chair the opening ceremony of these assemblies which will bring together 57 member States represented by the ministers of Finance and Economy as well as governors of central banks, to discuss all the economic issues facing member countries and plans aimed at accelerating economic development in these countries,” he added.
“I am in Algeria for a two-day visit, an opportunity to meet with Finance Minister and IsDB Governor Abdelkrim Bouzred to review preparations for the annual meetings, ensuring they are conducted in a manner befitting a great nation like Algeria and meeting the standards of the IsDB, with the goal of attracting future investments to Algeria.”
Al-Jasser expressed satisfaction with Algeria’s achievements, sharing his hope that “during my next visit in May, I will see new developments in various sectors, particularly in railways, which the President discussed with me at length. These ambitious projects signal a promising future for this generous country.”
“May Allah protect Algeria and its people, and grant success to its leaders in fulfilling the aspirations of this ambitious nation,” he concluded.
