Ireland’s PM Condemns Zionist Entity’s Attack on Gaza Flotilla as Breach of Maritime Law

Ireland’s Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Micheal Martin denounced the Zionist entity’s attack on the Gaza-bound Global Sumud Flotilla as a “breach of international maritime law,” speaking ahead of the European Political Community meeting in Copenhagen on Thursday. When asked directly whether the attack constituted such a breach, Martin replied: “If it happened in international waters, then yes.” He stressed that the flotilla was “a humanitarian mission, no threat to anybody other than to highlight and to bring humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” underlining the urgency of ensuring humanitarian relief reaches the enclave swiftly.
Martin reaffirmed that Ireland will provide consular assistance to citizens detained in the raid, stressing the importance of them being treated “properly.” His comments came as organizers confirmed that Zionist naval forces had attacked the aid flotilla and detained 443 activists aboard. The Global Sumud Flotilla, via Instagram, published the names and nationalities of those detained, showing participation from Spaniards, Italians, Brazilians, Turks, Greeks, Americans, Germans, Swedes, British, French, and many others.
