Iran’s FM Warns Trump Against Renewed Military Confrontation, Urges Diplomacy

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi cautioned US President Donald Trump on Wednesday against repeating what he described as the “mistake” of past military confrontations, stressing that Tehran remains prepared for diplomacy despite deep mistrust toward Washington. In an interview with Fox News, Araghchi referred to US strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities during a 12-day war in June, warning that military action would not yield different results. “You destroyed facilities, but technology cannot be bombed, determination also cannot be bombed,” he said, emphasizing Iran’s resilience amid escalating tensions.

Araghchi acknowledged that Iran has had no positive experience with the United States but argued that negotiation remains the preferable path. He said Iran has consistently shown readiness for diplomacy over the past two decades, while accusing Washington of repeatedly abandoning talks. “Between war and diplomacy, diplomacy is a better way,” he stated, adding that renewed conflict would be “disastrous for everybody,” even as he expressed hope that “wisdom would prevail.”

Addressing recent protests in Iran, the foreign minister claimed the government exercised “maximum restraint,” asserting that unrest was hijacked by violent groups rather than genuine demonstrators. He alleged that “terror cells” backed by an Zionist plot infiltrated protests, targeting security forces and civilians to escalate the situation and draw the United States into conflict.
