Iran Votes to Suspend Cooperation with IAEA Over Silence on Nuclear Site Attacks

TEHRAN – Iran’s Parliament voted Wednesday to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), according to Iranian state television.
“The IAEA, which has refused to even slightly condemn the attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, has compromised its international credibility,” said Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf after the vote.
He added that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran would halt its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog “as long as the security of nuclear facilities is not guaranteed.”
The decision follows statements made Monday by Ghalibaf during a parliamentary session, where he warned of a draft bill in response to the IAEA’s “passivity and disengagement” in the face of Zionist airstrikes and U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
Reiterating that Iran has no intention of pursuing non-peaceful nuclear activities, the Parliament Speaker criticized the IAEA for failing to uphold its commitments and accused it of becoming “a political tool.”
