Iran Says Delegation of Technical Experts Participating in Indirect Nuclear Talks With US in Geneva

An Iranian delegation including technical experts in the nuclear field is taking part in a new round of indirect nuclear talks with the United States in Geneva, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said, describing the move as a sign of Tehran’s seriousness in the negotiations.
Baqaei said Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in Geneva for the second round of nuclear negotiations, which are being held indirectly with mediation from Oman. He added that Araqchi’s schedule also included a meeting with Oman’s foreign minister, as well as talks with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, who arrived from Vienna earlier in the day.
According to Baqaei, the negotiations involve technical, economic, political, and legal dimensions, with the technical aspect playing a particularly significant role. He stressed that Iran has dispatched a comprehensive team of specialists, noting that the composition of the delegation demonstrates Tehran’s commitment to the process.
Referring to earlier negotiations held in Oman, the spokesman said the first session focused on general issues, including assessing the seriousness of the other side and ensuring genuine commitment to the talks. He reiterated that the lifting of sanctions remains an inseparable priority for Iran and noted that the country’s economic officials are closely monitoring the issue, while technical experts continue to participate in discussions on relevant matters.
