Iran Reopens Airspace After Closure to Most Flights Amid US Attack Threats

Iran has reopened its airspace to most civilian flights after a temporary closure imposed amid escalating tensions and fears of potential US military strikes. The Civil Aviation Organization of Iran said the country’s airspace is now open for transit, incoming, and outgoing flights, with airports resuming full passenger services.

“Iran’s airspace is open for transit flights, incoming and outgoing flights, and airports are providing services to passengers,” the aviation authority was quoted as saying by state broadcaster IRIB. The announcement signals a return to normal operations following heightened security concerns.

Earlier, flight-tracking data from Flightradar24 indicated that Iranian airspace had been largely closed as tensions rose, with the country only allowing international flights under special authorization. The restrictions were introduced amid anticipation of possible US strikes, before being lifted as conditions stabilized.
