Iran Rejects Trump’s Claims, Reaffirms Commitment to Nuclear Non-Proliferation

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent claims about Iran’s nuclear ambitions, asserting that Tehran remains committed to defending its national interests and security through maximum resistance. Speaking on Wednesday, Baghaei reiterated that allegations regarding Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons are baseless and have been repeatedly debunked.

Baghaei contrasted Iran’s nuclear stance with that of the Zionist entity, which has openly threatened to use nuclear weapons in its war on Gaza. He emphasized that Iran, as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, operates its nuclear program under full supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in compliance with the Safeguards Agreement.

Regarding U.S. accusations of Iranian plots to assassinate American officials, Baghaei rejected such claims and reiterated Tehran’s commitment to seeking justice for the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in 2020. Meanwhile, Trump, during a signing ceremony for a memorandum reimposing the “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran, expressed reluctance over the move but claimed it was necessary to maintain strength against Tehran.
