Iran Cautions Against Outcome of Contradictory Behavior by the U.S. Ahead of Rome Talks

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has warned of the consequences of Washington’s contradictory behavior and provocative positions, following the U.S. announcement of fresh sanctions against Iranian and foreign entities.
Baqaei strongly condemned the new measures, which target individuals and companies accused of cooperating with Iran in economic and trade sectors. The U.S. State Department imposed sanctions on April 30 against seven entities allegedly involved in trading Iranian petroleum products.
The move comes just days before the fourth round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington, scheduled to take place in Rome, raising tensions ahead of the diplomatic engagement.
