Iran and China Strengthen Strategic Ties, Emphasizing Long-Term Cooperation

In a pivotal meeting held in Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of implementing the comprehensive agreement between Iran and China, reaffirming both countries’ deep-rooted and historical ties. The meeting, which took place on Wednesday with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, followed constructive discussions between Pezeshkian and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia.
Pezeshkian underscored that both Iran and China are not only connected by a history of friendly relations but also maintain strong, strategic cooperation today. The Iranian president expressed his commitment to advancing the comprehensive agreement with China, stressing the significance of his recent discussions with Xi Jinping, which resulted in mutual understanding and the desire to deepen bilateral ties.
The Iranian leader also took the opportunity to criticize the United States, accusing it of adopting a unilateral and totalitarian approach in global politics. Pezeshkian highlighted Iran’s dedication to strengthening its collaboration with both China and Russia, positioning these alliances as crucial to counterbalance U.S. influence on the international stage. This development further solidifies Iran’s ongoing efforts to expand its strategic partnerships in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
