India: Algeria’s Army General Chanegriha Attended the Defense Ministers’ Conclave

Algeria’s Army General Said Chanegriha, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), participated on Tuesday in the Defense Ministers’ Conclave, marking the seventh day of his official visit to India, according to a communiqué from the Ministry of National Defense.

“On the seventh day of his official visit to the Republic of India, Army General Said Chanegriha, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, took part today, Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in the Defense Ministers’ Conclave,” the source clarified.

During this conclave, the Army General delivered a speech expressing gratitude to the Indian authorities for their kind invitation to participate in this high-level meeting. He also praised “the sincere commitment of the Republic of India to strengthening its relationships with partners and friends.”

“First of all, I would like to thank you for the gracious invitation to engage in discussions at the 2025 Defense Ministers’ Conclave titled ‘Building Resilience through International Defense and Global Engagement,’ which I hope will prove fruitful and beneficial for all participants,” he stated.

“This conclave addresses a theme of significant importance, reflecting the resolute determination of the Republic of India to enhance its relationships with friends and partners. It also offers an opportunity for dialogue, as well as the exchange of viewpoints and forward-looking perspectives on global security issues,” he added.

The Army General asserted that “the security challenges facing today’s world compel us all to strengthen multilateral cooperation and unite our efforts to create a safer, more stable, and prosperous world.”

“I am convinced that the current security challenges necessitate the reinforcement of multilateral cooperation and the alignment of our efforts to promote the values of peace and sustainable development, thereby fostering a safer, more stable, and prosperous world,” he remarked.

At the conclusion of the event, the Army General posed for a group photo with the participating defense ministers. Following this, he engaged in discussions with Army General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defense Staff of India.

This second meeting between the senior military leadership of both countries highlights their mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation.

During this occasion, the Army General expressed his deep gratitude to his Indian counterpart for the warm welcome he received during his visit, affirming that “this represents an opportunity to establish military cooperation between the two countries.”

For his part, Army General Anil Chauhan expressed “his pleasure in meeting General Said Chanegriha,” sharing his optimism regarding the potential for these exchanges to yield concrete results that reflect the unbreakable ties between the two nations, concluded the MDN communiqué.
