ICJ Orders Zionist Entity to Uphold Obligations in Occupied Palestine

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Wednesday issued a new advisory opinion concerning the obligations of the Zionist entity regarding the presence and activities of the United Nations, other international organizations, and third states in the occupied Palestinian territory, ordering it to respect its duties as an occupying power. These include facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid, protecting relief personnel, prohibiting the use of starvation, upholding human rights, and ensuring the privileges and immunities granted to UN officials.
According to a statement released after its session, the ICJ indicated that the judges, unanimously, called on the Zionist entity to “ensure that the population of the occupied Palestinian territory has access to essential goods for daily life, including water, food, clothing, bedding materials, shelter, and fuel, as well as medical supplies and services.”
This marks the third ruling by the ICJ regarding the actions of the Zionist occupier since the start of its brutal and deadly aggression against Gaza more than two years ago.
