Algiers, September 2, 2025 – Lucia Witbooi, the Vice President of Namibia, arrived at the VIP lounge of Houari Boumediene International Airport on Tuesday. She was welcomed by Kamel Rezig, the Algerian Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion. Witbooi is in Algeria to participate in the Intra-African Trade Fair, according to a statement from the ministry.
The Intra-African Trade Fair will be held in Algiers from September 4 to 10 under the theme “Gateway to New Opportunities.” The event will feature delegations from 140 countries and over 2,000 companies from Africa and beyond, including approximately 200 Algerian firms. An estimated 35,000 professional visitors are expected to attend, with trade and investment agreements anticipated to exceed $44 billion.
