IATF 2025: Strong International Participation Confirms Algeria’s Role as Gateway to Africa

The 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) recorded a remarkable presence of companies from outside the continent, that came to explore new partnership opportunities, confirming Algeria’s role as a regional economic hub and strategic gateway to Africa.

This 4th edition, organized from 4 to 10 September in Algiers, features the participation of approximately 2000 exhibitors and delegations from 140 countries, in various fields such as industry, agriculture, energy, communication technologies, agribusiness, financial services and innovation, in addition to the tourism and training sectors.

The participation of these sectors reflects the global character of the event and establishes its place as a major platform for commercial exchanges and investments attracting operators from all continents.

In this regard, several exhibitors from countries outside the continent highlighted to APS the cooperation and partnership opportunities that the event offers with Algerian and African operators in general, whether in the fields of industry and logistics or in terms of investment and trade.

Larissa Eitner, international sales director of the Swiss company Pack Sys Global, specialized in the manufacture of packaging and conditioning machines, expressed her “amazement” at the wide participation in the fair, assuring that “the event offers an exceptional opportunity to see all of Africa gathered in one place.”

She also noted that “the participation from outside the African continent was balanced, unlike many major economic events”, specifying that “this reflects an orientation of Algeria and African countries to move towards stronger and more diversified partnerships.”

Regarding the Algerian market, Eitner said that her first visit to the country allowed her to discover several assets making Algeria “an important attraction pole for investors” and “a key partner in the African value chain.”

For his part, Edouard Huot, commercial delegate at the Canadian Embassy in Algeria, indicated that Canada’s participation in this fair, with a pavilion grouping 11 companies, aims to explore new markets and strengthen its presence on the continent.

These companies held, according to him, bilateral meetings with Algerian companies and other African countries and plan to establish “fruitful” partnerships, mentioning “very positive” preliminary results.
