IATF 2025: Arrival of High-Ranking African Officials in Algiers

ALGIERS, September 3, 2025 – Senior African officials and prominent figures from across the continent have arrived at Houari-Boumediene International Airport to participate in the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), scheduled to take place in Algiers from September 4 to 10.

They were welcomed in the VIP lounge of the airport by Kamel Rezig, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.

On Wednesday morning, Rezig greeted Brahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

On Tuesday evening, he welcomed Mahamadou Issoufou, the former President of the Republic of Niger, wishing him a productive participation in this significant continental event and an enjoyable stay in Algeria.

Earlier, the minister extended his greetings to George Elombi, the newly elected President of the African Import-Export Bank (Afreximbank), as well as to Benedict Oramah, the current president of the bank. He wished them both success in their participation at this important event aimed at fostering a unified and sustainable African economy.

On Tuesday, Rezig also met with Namibia’s Vice President, Lucia Witbooi, along with Claude Alphonse Nsilou, Minister of State for Commerce, Supplies, and Consumption of the Republic of Congo, and Frederick Ngobi Gume, Minister of State for Cooperatives of the Republic of Uganda.

On Monday, he welcomed Mathieu Guibolo Fanga, the Chadian Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Notably, Algiers will host the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair from September 4 to 10 under the slogan “Gateway to New Opportunities.” Delegations representing 140 countries and over 2,000 companies from Africa and beyond, including nearly 200 Algerian firms, are expected to attend.

Approximately 35,000 professional visitors are anticipated at this edition, which aims to facilitate the conclusion of trade and investment agreements valued at $44 billion.
