IAEA: No Signs of Nuclear Powers Preparing to Resume Nuclear Tests

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has observed no indications that nuclear-armed states are preparing to resume nuclear weapons testing, IAEA Director Rafael Grossi said. His comments come amid renewed international discussions about strategic stability and arms control.

Grossi stressed that the agency relies on verified data and objective monitoring rather than speculation. “What we tend to do is we look at the facts. And in terms of nuclear testing, we don’t see any for the moment,” he said, underscoring the IAEA’s role in tracking developments related to nuclear activities worldwide.

The statement reflects the agency’s current technical assessments and monitoring mechanisms, which are designed to detect any potential nuclear tests. Grossi’s remarks aim to reassure the international community that, based on available evidence, there are no immediate signs pointing to a resumption of nuclear testing by nuclear powers.
