
ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab reaffirmed Wednesday in Rome (Italy) Algeria’s commitment to sustainable energy transition, stressing its willingness to host a joint experimental energy project, said a Ministry’s statement.
This meeting is held at the headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Arkab is accompanied by the Algerian ambassador to Italy, the CEO of Sonelgaz Group and the Commissioner for Nuclear Energy (COMENA), the same source said.
The meeting serves as a platform “to exchange views on the strategies adopted to speed up the development and experimentation of fusion energy, along with discussing priority issues related to policy and financial frameworks, technological progress, marketing processes and international cooperation so as to develop this promising technology to provide low-carbon energy to meet growing development needs.”
