Hungary Announces Exit from International Criminal Court Amid Netanyahu’s Visit

Hungary has announced its decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC), with the process set to begin immediately. The announcement was made by Gergely Gulyas, Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who stated that the decision aligns with the country’s constitutional and international legal obligations.

This decision comes as Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrives in Hungary for a four-day official visit, marking his first trip to Europe since the ICC issued an arrest warrant for him in November over accusations of war crimes in Gaza. Human rights groups, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have called for Hungary to arrest Netanyahu and hand him over to the ICC.

In November, the ICC issued arrest warrants for both Netanyahu and his former War Minister Yoav Gallant in relation to war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. The Zionist entity is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its military actions in Gaza, where more than 50,400 people have been killed since the October 7, 2023.
