Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Friday that she has accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination to run in the presidential election scheduled for November 5th.
Speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Harris stated, “I accept your nomination to be President of the USA,” and pledged to be a leader for all Americans, regardless of their political or racial backgrounds.
Harris’s acceptance follows President Joe Biden’s recent decision to withdraw from the race for the White House just a month ago.
If elected, Harris would make history as the first woman to serve as President of the United States.
