Greece: Four Dead in Migrant Boat Capsize

Four individuals tragically lost their lives on Thursday when a migrant boat capsized in the Aegean Sea, according to the Greek coast guard. “The bodies were recovered near the island of Samos, where another similar incident occurred on Monday,” stated the source.
Sixteen additional people were rescued, and search efforts are ongoing to locate any survivors. Two separate incidents took place on Monday near Samos and Lesbos, resulting in at least nine asylum seekers dead, including six minors and two women.
This year, Greece has experienced a 25% increase in the number of individuals fleeing war and poverty, with 30% of these cases reported around Rhodes and the southeastern Aegean Sea, as revealed by the Greek Ministry of Migration.
Several similar incidents have occurred over the past few weeks, with the most recent being in early November when four people died near the island of Rhodes. At the end of October, two individuals were reported dead near Samos, and just days prior, four others, including two young children, also perished near the island.
