Germany Halts Arms Exports to Zionist Entity Over Planned Expansion in Gaza

BERLIN – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that Berlin has decided to halt arms exports to the Zionist entity in response to its plan to expand military operations in the Gaza Strip. In an interview with German public broadcaster ARD, Merz stressed that Germany “cannot provide weapons in a conflict that is currently being waged solely by military means,” adding that Berlin is focusing on diplomatic efforts instead.
Merz warned that expanding Zionist operations in Gaza could lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians and force the evacuation of the entire city. He questioned where displaced residents could possibly go, stating firmly, “We cannot do that, we will not do that, and I will not do that.”
The worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the Zionist entity’s declared intention to widen its military occupation over the territory prompted Germany to take this unprecedented decision, marking a significant shift in Berlin’s policy toward the war.
