Germany Condemns Zionist Threats to Annex Southern Lebanon

The government of Germany on Wednesday condemned threats by the Zionist entity to annex southern Lebanon, which has been subjected to intense bombardment for several weeks, stating that such a plan would violate international law.
“an annexation of Lebanese territory by Israel would, of course, be contrary to international law and would not be accepted by the Federal Government,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Giese said at a media briefing in Berlin.
He added that Germany had “taken note of these statements with great concern,” calling for a return to the ceasefire and for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
Despite the ceasefire in force since late November 2024, the Zionist forces continue their military actions against Lebanon.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the toll from the ongoing attacks has reached 1,072 deaths and 2,966 injured since March 2.
