The President of the Federal Republic of Germany expressed his gratitude to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a humanitarian gesture regarding the writer Boualem Sansal.
The German leader said, “I welcome the response of President Tebboune to my request concerning the pardon granted to the writer Boualem Sansal, who has readers and friends in Germany. This was an important concern for me, and it is a positive thing that he is free. I thank my Algerian counterpart, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for this significant humanitarian gesture, which also reflects the quality of relations and the trust between Germany and Algeria.”
